Brusha, brusha, brusha
We now have a sliver of a tooth poking out of Patrick's bottom left part of his mouth. I was feeling his gums last night to check it out and I noticed that it was hard and that there was a tooth. I'll be breaking out the finger baby toothbrush soon once it gets a little taller. Our baby is growing up so fast!
He Pooped!
While Daddy was letting Mommy have her weekly "time out," Patrick gave Daddy a great surprise. He finally pooped...like, a big poop. Not just the little pellets, but a great big poop "the size of his head" according to Daddy. Mommy was sorry she wasn't there to help clean it up but she was so happy to hear that Patrick has cleared out his slowage/stoppage. Yay!

Poor Patrick's in need of some prune juice
We've been working on giving his legs the "bicycle" and feeding him prunes. I hope to wake up tomorrow morning to have a nice surprise from the poop fairy. Who knew that giving your baby too many bananas makes them plugged up. :)
Update: 1/11/07 Patrick has pooped but not a lot, he's still having a hard time but not as bad since I gave him a sliver of an infant suppository per our doc's recommendation. I had no idea I'd be so interested and excited about his poops.

Christmas/New Year's/6 mo check up Update
Here are some cute photos from Christmas Eve dinner at Grandma Jo's house. We had some yummy ham and sweet potatoes and good family times. Patrick wore his Santa hat to be festive. As you can see, he loves to grab daddy's hair.
I need to take more pictures so that we can post more pictures. What you've all missed lately is the hit and run that Patrick and I had Dec. 21st, we're okay but the driver door of my trailblazer was bashed in. So, we've been crusing North Central Phoenix in a silvery-greeny Chrysler something or other. It's a nice rental car. My car should be ready by Jan 11th (fingers crossed). Oh and New Years came and went while we were visiting the sandman. I did tivo Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve so that I could celebrate the New Year with my sparkling cider and morning waffles the next day.
What else, oh, we went to Tucson this last weekend to visit my family some more and see Nana and the Manley's (where we got married). Nana is good and the Eegee flavor this month is Blueberry (not my fave...sorta tastes like blue dirt). Can't wait for the Peach 'n' berry each year. I should check to see when that is and plan a trip. You can check too: www.eegees.com.
Patrick also had his 6 month check up Jan 2nd. and he's in the 75th percentile for height, 70th for head and 25th for weight. He's still eating all the time so maybe he'll fatten up later. :) Oh, and my moles I had dug out of each arm came back from the pathologist with a clean bill. Yay! Guess that's it for now. Time to take today's shower. And what time is it....? 9:36 pm. Ha! I'm definitely a mommy now. Showers are sometimes hard to come by. :)

Cookie Exchange Party
We had a fun day Dec 15th with Cyndy bringing snow from Flagstaff for the our family and the Everett's family to play with and we finished with a cookie exchange party. The kids and dads had fun throwing snowballs and making a snowowl. I'm not sure where the owl idea came from but it was cute. The snow ended up staying on our lawn for the next 2 days until it melted away. :(
Below are some pictures from our Cookie Exchange party that we had at 2pm. This was the first annual, and I'm definitely doing it again. We had Oatmeal lace cookies dipped in chocolate, "adult" chocolate cookies - one recipe with cocoa nibs and salt and the other with cayenne pepper, we also had peanut butter blossoms, sour cream cookies, sugar cookies, monster cookies, blue ribbon winning molasses cookies, thumbprint jam cookies and pretty green marshmallow wreaths. So good...so good...really, everyone did a great job with the flour butter and sugar. I can't wait to do it again next eyar. Along with all the cookies we had some sparkling cranberry juice and snacked on crackers with green chiles and cream cheese with pickapeppa sauce. The winners of the cookie tin awards were:
Best tasting: Three-way tie between the oatmeal lace, peanut butter blossoms and the sour cream cookies.
Best looking: Marshmallow holiday wreaths with red hots
Most unique: The "adult" chocolate duo
Congrats winners!

We're working on the solid foods now...
He's a very good eater we've discovered. Here he is trying out some rice cereal. We opted not to bib him since we weren't sure how dirty he'd get. We've found that he's very clean, it's just mommy who is messy and doesn't always hit the mouth in the best spot. He's tried bananas, apples, pears, sweet potatoes, peas and we'll try squash next week. So far he likes it all. Yay!!
